M.R. Publishers cc traces its origins back to the vibrant landscape of KwaZulu Natal during the 1980s and 1990s. Formally established on March 15, 1993, by the dynamic mother-son duo of Constance (Connie) Ruby Fine and Maurice Malcolm Fine, the company's inception was rooted in Connie's extensive experience as an educator. With over three decades of teaching, including specialized education at Fulton School for the Deaf and mainstream instruction at Bellair Primary School, Connie was deeply involved in educational innovation, being involved at one of the pilot schools for initiatives like "New Maths" that later evolved into "outcomes-based" education, or "CAPS."

Recognizing a gap in workbook resources, particularly for the foundation phase, Connie and
Maurice, fresh from completing his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Natal (Durban campus, 1989-1991), sparked an idea. This concept, born from Connie's practical expertise and Maurice's theoretical knowledge, blossomed into a thriving business venture.

Since its inception, M.R. Publishers (Malcolm and Ruby) has undergone numerous transformations. In 2007, the company relocated to Johannesburg, the economic heart of South Africa, where Maurice and his wife Melissa injected fresh energy, innovative products, and a bold vision into the business. The fusion of Maurice's rich history and Melissa's creative ingenuity creates an exciting synergy that propels the company forward.

While our journey hasn't always been without challenges, we understand the importance of
empowering customers to have full control over their orders and access to fresh materials. With the introduction of this ecommerce platform, we aim to regain your confidence in our capabilities.

As we reflect on our journey, we express heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support received
over the years. We dedicate our past successes to the memory of Constance Ruby Fine (1941-2022) and envision future triumphs guided by our five remarkable sons and one heavenly daughter.
